Locating local history primary sources
This module will introduce learners to the primary sources of local history, material from the historical period you are researching. Learners will learn how to navigate and work with digitized material at national repositories as well as major state and local digital library collections, in order to gather a collection of sources related to their topic and question. You will consider access, permissions, and usage rights. Learners will also learn about how to work with analog sources, including the basics of digitization, preservation, and metadata standards.

- Ability to evaluate and implement access, permissions, and usage rights for digital collections.
- Understand and use metadata standards to describe and digitize analog sources.
